Pinterest anyone?

Seen this project yet on Pinterest...  like a million times?  My creative daughter decided to tackle this the other day.  She purchased her own canvas + a box of generic crayons (she found the Up & Up box of 24... Target's brand... for only 25 cents).  I like the look of the generic crayons with the polka dots.  Every time I've seen this on Pinterest it's been with Crayola crayons... so the Crayola logo is on there.  This is way more cute!   

The instructions on Pinterest say to put them on your canvas with a hot glue gun.  After they are adhered... heat the crayons with a hair dryer until they melt, causing that dripping effect.  She said the hair dryer wasn't melting them, so Bob suggested she use one of those long Bic lighters.  I found this out after the fact.  It worked, but I'm not going to suggest that.  Especially if you have a 12-year old doing the project & you're not aware of what's going on.  No one needs to burn the house down.

 

She added her own text to the bottom.  I said, "You wrote that?  That's so cute!"

She said, "Well I wrote it in pencil first in case I made a mistake."

 

The girl never ceases to amaze me...

Choices...

I get by with a little help from my friends...

Let me begin by saying that the title of this page is not meant to be taken seriously... it's just meant to be funny.  I'm blaming Pinterest for it.  I pinned this poster awhile ago because it just reminded me of my crazy friends...

Since there was a lot of crazy colors & prints in our dresses, I went with a very colorful background and title, but tried to anchor it all with white directly behind the photo.  I also threw in some SRM sticker sentiments, of course! 

I'm really thankful for those 4 girls. 

It's not every day that you meet someone so cool... let alone 4 people so cool.  We have a lot of crazy fun times together, but this past year has had it's share of tears too.  Somehow even through sadness though, we always end up laughing about something.  And I mean laughing really hard.  We all have each other's backs & we're there to pick each other up when we fall.  

And I mean literally, too.  That's happened.  LOL 

Zumba may be what brought us all together, but it's really liking each other's company that makes us want to spend more than just that hour we have at the Y every day.  And when one of us moves, or one of us isn't at lunch or at a night out... it isn't quite the same.  We miss who's not there.    

I speak for myself when I say all this, but I'm pretty sure we all feel the same way.  And with Thanksgiving coming up, I guess I'm just feeling thankful for many things... especially good friends.

Had a FUN weekend... or rather a fun Friday night anyway!  On Saturday night, I was in bed by 10:00 to make up for the lack of sleep the night before.  Anyway... Friday night was the first of many going-away parties for my friends that are moving to Dallas this summer.  We are starting now with the going away parties, since her husband has to move & start working there now.  Going to miss them... :-(

 

On a creative note... I have finally accepted an invitation to Pinterest.  I've had the email in my inbox for a couple weeks now & was reluctant to join.  Just what I need... another time-waster.  But I joined.  And I'm already pretty sure it's going to be a major time-waster.  SO. MUCH. INSPIRATION.  Also a one-stop place to store all the images that inspire me, rather than filling up the photo space stored on my computer like I do now.  You can find me here.  Let me know if you'd like an invite.  I think if you join by invite, you're on right away.  I've heard that if you join on your own, it's takes a couple weeks before your account is established.  Is that correct? 

 
We've already been to church today, ran 4 miles, ate lunch & am now waiting for my friend to come over and sell me her Cricut machine + the DoodleCharms cartridge for a really great price!  I'm so excited she asked me, as I'd been thinking for awhile now about buying one.  Like... every time I see my friend, Jing-Jing, post another amazing project using her Cricut.  In fact, I just went looking for a couple of my favorite projects of hers & she has like 50 "out for publication" signs up so I couldn't find it.  You GO, girl!  Anyway, back to the Cricut... I also just ordered the CreateACritter cartidge on sale for $21.95 to use with it.  I don't even know how to use it yet & I'm already buying cartidges for it!  LOL!  So excited!
