Have you met My Friend Birdie?

Well, if not, consider this your formal introduction! 

My Friend Birdie is just one of Nikki Sivils' ADORABLE new lines debuting next week & I had the honor of creating with it for CHA!  This just might be my favorite line of hers EVER.  And what makes me the most excited about all the new lines... matching LETTER STICKERS!!!!!!    

 

Here's what I made with the line...

 

 

The last page was a lift of one of my own pages I made last summer that was just published in the new Scrapbook Inspirations Idea Book.  I figured if it worked for them... it can work again! 

And speaking of getting published... in the midst of all the chaos over the weekend of creating like a mad woman for CHA, I received an email from Creating Keepsakes Magazine!  I'm going to be published in their January issue!  I was screaming so loudly that Bryn ran in the room wondering if something bad happened to me.  Then I called Bob to tell him & I started crying.  I still can't believe it... after all these years of reading that magazine like it was the Bible.

Keep an eye on the Nikki Sivils blog for more peeks at the new lines!  Leah had a darling layout on the blog yesterday made with the new Blueberry Hill line!  One of these days I'm going to get started on that line, myself!

The hills are alive...

Going to be away from the internet for awhile.  It costs $25/day to have internet access on my Blackberry there, so it's not going with me.  I am, however, going to bring my laptop & will use it sparingly during the week.  While the hotel does provide access, it doesn't come cheap.  So... I may be able to pop on a couple times, but for the most part, I'm going to be out of touch for awhile.   

Blog posts are scheduled though & I'm going to come home to 2 very SPECIAL boxes... the new lines from Nikki Sivils & the new sticker lines from SRM Stickers!  I am SO EXCITED to have the amazing opportunity to create for 2 CHA booths this year.  I'll have plenty of time during the 3 flights going & the 3 flights coming back home to sketch out my page ideas using all the new products.  I'll be a crazy creating woman for about 4 full days when I return so I can meet the CHA deadlines.  Maybe my "cabana boy" will deliver popcorn into the craftroom, so I don't starve to death while I'm in there buried in paper & photos?  I love him sooo much.    

And then....  I'm off to CHA myself!  Can. Not. Wait!

And PS... I thought I had scheduled this to post on the 5th, but I guess I forgot?  My day to post at the Nikki Sivils blog was Monday...

"You say it's your birthday...

... it's my birthday too."  Now I'll have that song stuck in my mind all day.  We're attending a family birthday party this weekend for 3 siblings.  I wanted the cards to look similar, but obviously a little different, since 2 are for boys & the other for a girl.  When Jenyfur at SRM Stickers asked if anyone would like to create some mini card sets, I did... since I needed to make some anyway!  Here's 2 of the cards, as seen on the blog today...

In the meantime... I made the 3rd card...

Off to my interval class at the Y, doing a little cleaning today & then we are going out to dinner with friends tonight.  The birthday party is tomorrow night!  The newest These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things challenge goes up on Sunday, so I'll post my page then.  Sunday is also my last song for guest designing with Scrapping the Music!

Oh & by the way... the dentist said he thinks I have the beginning of a cavity.  I would've never known, mind you, as I have no pain or problems, but that's my luck with the dentist.  So... I get to go back next week for that fun.  While we're at it, let's just redo that one crown, too, so you don't have such a big gap there.  Oh, but that can wait until April.  Sigh...

Ellie's Day Out...

In addition to Will He Be The 1, which I posted yesterday, Nikki Sivils also sent me the new Ellie's Day Out line currently on display at CHA this weekend!  This new line is all about purses, shoes & shopping!  Hmmm... wonder why she sent this line to me?

Needless to say, I enjoyed creating with this sweet & girly line!  I used a lot of cut-outs & punches to create the following.  I also used a lot of the new Burlap Buttons!  I love how they added a little something to the purses & shoes...

I also love all the scalloped-edge round patterned papers in the new lines... so FUN! 

 

I'm enjoying seeing all the other  DT creations with the other 4 new lines, and can't wait to receive them myself!  Check out the Nikki Sivils gallery... it's being updated every day with new layouts, cards & altered projects!

Real quick... Julie texted me a couple photos from Nikki Sivils' booth.  Here's my FASHIONISTA layout, you've seen before (right above Julie's)...

 
 

... and she sent me another photo, but that layout is being published in the February edition of Scrapstreet magazine, so I can't show you yet.  In fact, I had to get their permission to let Nikki take it with her to CHA.

Will He B The 1...

It's not Sunday yet.  But... I get to post earlier than I thought because the 6 new Nikki Sivils' lines have been posted on her website!  You can see all of them here!

I love this new line... Will He Be The 1!  It's all about Date Night, so how could I not?!

The first layout I made with both lines I was sent, was this first one.  The ADMIT ONE tickets totally reminded me that I had a LOT of ticket stubs from all the Broadway shows Bob & I have attended over the past 10+ years.  The tickets on the layout are just a few of the many!  I love the strip at the bottom.  It looks like it could be scallops, but it's actually POPCORN!  And if you know me, you know how much I love to eat popcorn.  It's somewhat disturbing... 

I cut out the popcorn on the next page & put some of them on pop dots so it looked like clouds.  You need clouds for this particular movie!  I also used a LOT of the Breadless Tabs as a border strip.  Nikki asked us to concentrate on using lots of her tabs, brads, buttons & other embellishments when making our pages, while keeping other manufacturer's stash to a minimum.... since some projects would end up in catalogs & others would be at CHA as well.  I do love how well the Breadless Tabs match the patterned paper in this line... 

 

I love the pink and the fun hearts & lips in the rest of the line.  Perfect for the upcoming holiday, too!

I threw in a little Ellie's Day Out (which I'll post tomorrow) on this one.  Just used lots of contact sheet-sized prints of photos that summed up the past year.  I also used one of the new Burlap Buttons on my little purse (you'll see more of those in tomorrow's projects).  They are WAY cute.  You'll definitely need to get some of those...

 

 

And then I made a few cards, too.  Just a simple card here, using the Willie Bees font stamps + the packaging from the Burlap Buttons (it's a cute journaling card... gotta love multi-use packaging!)...

The Happy Anniversary stamp is included in the Will He B The 1 stamp set...

Another Burlap Button here.  I LOVE them...
