Over the years I've uploaded random content to my YouTube page with choreography from class. Most of what I've uploaded has been routines with some of my amazing friends who are so dedicated to showing up every week.
In all honesty, I sometimes get goosebumps when I look around at everyone during a typical class. The energy a room full of people can bring to a group fitness class is indescribable. It's one of the MANY things I LOVE about being an instructor.
But I'm not sure everyone realizes how amazing they truly are. Especially if they're concentrating on following the moves or avoiding looking at themselves in the mirror.
If only there were cameras in class every time, because videoing on purpose for content is one thing, but an actual class can be a lot crazier with yelling, laughing and sometimes just plain obnoxiousness.
I don't care what kind of mood you might walk in those doors with, but it's unlikely you're leaving without smiling at least a little bit. Ok, maybe a lot.
It's crossed my mind many times to have my boyfriend, Jim, video some content for me with his amazing shooting/editing skills, because he does it as a side hustle. Most of the time his gigs involve youth sports, creating highlight videos for athletes to use for college recruitment, weddings, receptions, church promotional videos... the list is long... but he graciously agreed to do this for me.
His attention to detail in delivering an amazing product is truly impressive. He really inspires me to do more, work harder and not sell myself short.
And well... let's be honest, some of the stuff I've posted on my YouTube page has had terrible lighting, or it's off center, or it's just plain rookie. But listen, my skills end with dancing, not with video editing, so what can I say.
I was really excited that he agreed to shoot a few songs for me, so I contacted some girls who are always in class. Not everyone was available, but the girls who were able to show up are just a small representation of ALL the amazing people who attend classes every week.
We have fun to say the least, but it's a workout, trust me.
Granted, Jim made us look really good with all his fancy angles and went all out and showed up with 3 different cameras, but I hope when they all watch these videos they realize how truly amazing they are.
I mean, honestly... I kept thinking during videoing, which by the way, was one and done for each song... that these girls freakin KILLED IT.
And I also hope these videos inspire people to move, or dance, or just have fun.
Because exercise shouldn't be something that's a chore, a bore or something you dread.
If it's any of those things, you should find something else that DOES motivate you to stick to a schedule.
Anyway... we shot 7 of my more recent routines, and of course Jim has already uploaded 3 of them. Like... as if he doesn't also have a full-time job and a very busy 15-year-old son. I think he kinda likes me.
Also, I had intended to wear a hat as usual, but since Kristen posed the question whether we were going glam for this, I thought... twist my arm, we gotta go glamsquad, but I can assure you that dancing without a hat never happens. I'd look like a hot mess.
Also... I'd love it if you'd subscribe to my YouTube channel. You'll get a notification every time something new is posted, including the rest of the footage we shot!
And... I'd also love it if you'd subscribe to Jim's Will He Productions YouTube channel, where you can find all of his work, especially if you're in the market for an amazing vidoegrapher!
Tell him Large Marge sent ya... LOL
Keep it moving and have a great week!
XOXO
