In this day & age of COVID, Zoom-this, Zoom-that and all things virtual... being technologically-savvy is a must.
Saving your eyes with a pair of Blue Blockers is a definite must. I have a couple pairs now.
And I don't know about you, but I feel like my eyes have become worse over the past year of virtual everything & more time spent online than normal.
Blue Blocker glasses help to reduce eye strain, headaches, and too much "blue" light, which at night especially can keep you wide awake if you're not cutting off your online usage at least an hour before bedtime.
And well... to be honest, I'm REALLY bad about that.
I love these from Abella Eyewear & you can get 30% off your purchase of any eye wear on their site with my code:
Good lighting is another must, in my opinion. This applies to any kind of photo or video.
Whether you're staging something to sell or just selling yourself with a selife... lighting can make or break the shot.
And I don't know about you, but I don't think the use of Zoom calls is going away anytime soon.
Since I'm doing a lot of selling these days on Poshmark, I feel as if it's important to stage the clothing for your closet in decent lighting like a retailer would use. I started out with a simple ring light, which I still love because it also doubles as a tripod for your phone, but I have since added more lighting to my arsenal.
Not gonna lie though... good lighting matters for your photos, videos and even your Zoom calls!
Here's an example of a photo without anything other than overhead ceiling lighting in the room, compared to the other with the addition of an inexpensive studio box light. Neither photo used a flash or any editing whatsoever. I just stood in the same spot within seconds of each other with the extra light on & off...
You can of course achieve a similar result with good outdoor lighting during the daylight hours too, however if you're working in an office that's not always possible.
And if you're staging and photographing content to sell, as I also do, I don't always have time to do that during the day. But "daylight hours" can be achieved at night with additional lighting.
You can find the Soft Box Lighting Kit here.
And the Ring Light with Phone Tripod here.
Both are very inexpensive and the box light even comes in a set of TWO... although I feel like 1 light is enough for the small room I use to photograph my stuff.
Kinda thinking of doing a tips & tricks video soon for selling on Poshmark. I've been doing it for almost a year now... February 23rd to be exact was the first date I made a sale last year.
Since that date though, I've made a little over $1100 just selling my old clothes, shoes and handbags.
There's money to be made out there in virtual land, you just gotta get started and do a little homework on what works!
How about you? Do you wear Blue Blockers or have additional lighting that you use at your home or office?
Curious to know your thoughts if you're online quite a bit for work or personal use!
XOXO
