Ok... first things first. For all those who didn't jump on that bandwagon over the weekend... I'll say it. You look the same as you did 10 years ago. You haven't aged a bit. Actually you look better than you did 10 years ago. And younger too, much younger!
Now then... let's move on to other fun snow-day activities... besides shoveling that is, but that's another story involving my lovely HOA.
Anyone else besides me binge on this Netflix series with Marie Kondo? I finally caved after hearing her name mentioned, not once, but twice over the weekend. So about 2 episodes in (and I watched 5 before I made myself go to bed) I started reorganizing my workout t-shirts drawer.
So technically I was also engaging in actual work, while sitting on my ass binge watching. So what if I could've choreographed something new for class instead during that 5-hour time frame? Minor detail.
To be perfectly honest, my house is pretty organized. Aside from a few "piles" I've created in random spots that never really move, most things have a place. And most places are fairly neat & tidy. My house may not always be CLEAN, but it usually appears that way anyway because I don't operate well when my surroundings are a mess.
In fact I don't operate well when anything about my life is a mess, so yeah, deep thoughts. LOL
Back to organizing though... as for my t-shirt drawer (and sadly that's not even all that I own in that drawer... the "holiday" stuff is elsewhere since they're seasonal), the t-shirts were folded of course, but the drawer was filled to the max. I'd say I mostly wore the stuff near the top of the folded piles too, while the rest of it just stayed buried at the bottom.
Until this particular folding technique...
Now I can see at a glance every single t-shirt I have, so it's easier to choose the one I want. I could probably get really OCD & organize them all by color, but I kind of like the randomness of it.
I started to make a giveaway pile with the ones I no longer wanted, but a friend suggested using my old t-shirts to make a quilt with Project Repat. SO... that's my next project! And it's also making it easier to part with some of my fav t-shirts that I've held onto for sentimental reasons... or frankly just because I liked the inspiring or sarcastic saying on it. If only I hadn't already got rid of many others when I reorganized last time. Apparently I don't have a YMCA shirt anymore either, so that will be the only job not represented, but the blanket will be special to me nonetheless.
The only problem is that I've cut up all my tees to wear as halters, so I'm not sure if I have enough room to work with on a lot them for cutting them down smaller per their specifications. I mean I know I can send a smaller than 12x12 portion, but they'll charge $5 extra for every square on which they have to add more fabric.
Do you happen to know someone who's local who makes these blankets?? I'll gladly give them the business instead!
Apparently more snow is on the way, so maybe that show will give you inspiration to organize & get rid of some things too. I, however, will be on a road trip for more volleyball.
An impending snowstorm ought to make it quite eventful... (insert big sigh & eye roll)
