Happy Friday! And it WILL be!
I was nominated by my daughter's BFF's mom, a good friend of mine, to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. She nominated me because my daughter nominated her.
#payback
Then I was also nominated by another good friend yesterday.
And just nominated again this morning on Instagram by the sweetest little girl ever (who also happens to have the same birthday as me... that makes her TOTALLY cool!)
How about if you just video me walking out of Zumba class because I look like someone dumped a bucket of water all over me every single day. #hotmess
But anyway... the first thing I did was to donate to ALS which can be done here.
Apparently I was also supposed to post my video within 24 hours, which I didn't do.
Probably why I was fair game to be nominated a second & now third time.
Bryn gave me a few rules... like she didn't want me to wear a hat because she thought I needed to get my hair wet. Uhhh ok???
I'm a rule-breaker. I think the donation is the best part.
But I finally did the challenge primarily because I wanted to make Bryn happy. And it made her very very happy to dump ice water on my head. She has the cutest laugh...
If you're wondering what ALS is or why the Ice Bucket challenge is so important, check out this guy. I told Bryn she had to watch this video before I'd let her dump the water on me. I wanted her to know the reason everyone is doing this. There were a LOT of kids her age posting their videos on Instagram before it really hit my newsfeed on Facebook. In fact, she completed the challenge last week. I just don't think they all really "get it"... why it's important...
Kleenex please.
Ok then... I'm off to teach my first new Friday morning Zumba class.
And it will be TURNT UP fo sho!
Word to your mother...
Thanks for sharing and doing such a great job as a mother to Bryn, for her to understand the importance of this ice bucket challenge and not just a new fad! I admire you so much, and get great pleasure in witnessing your compassion, kindness, intelligence, giving, friendship and joy for life, along with some craziness! I had a neighbor die from this disease and it's a terrible way to die and hopefully this attention, will help find a cure!
