*sigh* this brought tears to my eyes!! She is growing up so fast.... I was just having the same thoughts about Brookie as we just registered her for Kindergarten!! EEK!!! How did that happen!! Ah, they do grow up too quickly. And middle school, yikes! Thankfully our first two years there have been uneventful and drama-free. I echo your prayer of open communications. However, I know some days I fall short of being the mom she wants me to be.

I know how you feel, at least some. I can't believe Alison's almost 6 already. I say to her periodically, "Don't you get big," then she smiles and says "I'm going to!" I remember one time I said that to her when she was about 4 or so, and her reply was, "I'm going to get big, b/c it's a special job for me!"... Like you, I hope Alison always comes and talks to me. I hope.
