... and honestly we've been so busy these past 2 weeks, I don't think Bryn's had a chance to get bored. Although, I have a couple projects to complete for Nikki Sivils' booth at CHA, so I'm thinking tomorrow might need to be a boring day for her... well... after she goes to the Y with me in the morning, that is. I'm not getting creative until I work out. First things first!
This afternoon we went to see the movie "Tangled" after hearing many, many good things about it from all my friends that saw it with their kids. I almost needed some kleenex at one point, but managed to keep it together with my makeup still intact. Then we went to Target so Bryn could spend some of her gift card from Christmas. She left with a play cell phone... because she needed another one of those... and a recorder. Have you heard of those instruments? They sound like a flute, but look similar to a clarinet. They weren't around when I was in school but apparently they're all the rage right now. And according to Bryn she's going to have the opportunity to learn to play one at school coming up this semester. So she thought it would be a great idea to learn it on her own before then.
I, on the other hand, have been working on perfecting my "deaf ear." So far though, I'm not having much luck tuning her out...
yes, work outs always come first. ;)
at least that's what i've been telling myself.
hugs,
sarah.

Sounds like a fun vacation - we all had recorders when I was in school - we actually had lessons as part of our education. What fun for Bryn!!!! Sending lots of creative mojo your way - I look forward to seeing all of the wonderful CHA projects!

Great pic, and glad to hear you had a great time, overhere the kids went back to school last Monday!! I didn't know what a recorder was but I googled it and we have them overhere but I am so lucky to say that the boys don't really like them ;) Good luck with that!!

What? She is still on vacation? And you haven't ever heard of a recorder? Deana--what is going on in Missouri?? LOL!
I WISH we were still on vacation. I still have my recorder from when I was in school, DH has his, too. And now our older DD has one, too. They are a lot of fun to play and are a great music-reading teaching tool. Have fun listening to all of the tweets and toots (Haha)

I totally had a recorder in elementary school. A bright red one, in fact. We got them in music class and did a performance with them. I'm sure It was PAINFUL for our parents :)

My class and I played the recorder in fourth grade. A few of us went to summer camp together and took ours for the talent show - terrible idea.
