I'm not a huge reader anymore. I just don't have time for it. I guess it's because I'd rather spend my "reading time" on magazines & blogs... you know, the important things. Not having time for reading also assumes I've been lucky enough to have chosen a book that I can't put down. There's nothing worse than starting a book & then never picking it up again because it's putting you to sleep.
But when Bob gave me my iPad, I realized that I now had the ability to download books which could come in handy when I'm traveling. So, on my sister's suggestion, my first purchase was Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea..." I read it in about 2 days. I probably could've finished it in a day, but completely ignoring my family on vacation was not an option. Two words... FREAKIN HILARIOUS. Laughed OUT LOUD for most of the book. It got a bit embarrassing on the plane when a woman sitting across the aisle turned & looked at me. I couldn't help it. And most of the time I was laughing, I had tears in my eyes. So if you need a little light, fast reading or... you just need a little laughter in your life... pick it up.
And ps... I just downloaded my second book... Chelsea Chelsea, Bang Bang. I guess I'm a Chelsea Handler fan now (and maybe a new fan of reading?) Who knew?
I'm like you these days...magazines and blogs! My sister has read both books and her book on pregnancy and loved them. I'm thinking I need to read them soon. I'm in serious need of good old laughter! I hope your trip was fantastic :)

sounds like a fun book - I will have to check at the library for it. I can just imagine you laughing on the plane! I love to read books - I enjoy a few magazines (mostly art and craft) and some blogs. I have really cut back on the blurfing as it takes so much time away from creation - sometimes I wish there were more hours in the day! LOL! Have a super day!

I used to love to read. Sigh. Too many other loves fill up my life now! Light reading is my fave, because when I do find time to read it's always to escape reality. ;-)

Chealsea Handler cracks me up. I catch her on E some nights when I'm up scrapping, but I haven't read her books. I may have to check them out now. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

I'm getting back into reading now that I have my Sony reader! I saw this book in the new releases but wasn't sure who she was (who is she by the way?). I'll have to definitely add this one to my list thanks!

I've recently picked up reading again since my hubby bought me a Nook. I love it and always try to sneak time to read, even if a few pages a day. I do love my blogs though.. =) I never thought to read that book, but you have persuaded me. It is now in my 'to read' queue. btw: your work is fabulous. love what I've seen here on your blog.

You should try My Horizontal Life - also by Chelsea Handler - I laughed so hard I was crying - especially towards the end with the Green M&M Costume part! Good stuff!
