Bob's best friend from childhood was given the nickname, Bucky. I've only met him once (at Bob's mom's funeral) because he lives in another state, but I didn't notice any buck teeth & still wonder why that nickname was given. Bob doesn't even remember why. I mean, his name Tony? Bob STILL calls him Bucky though.
Bucky the Beaver from Nikki Sivils' Tree Love line, on the other hand, was appropriately named given his unfortunate circumstances of having two buck teeth. And while the last thing you think of when you see him (or her, in this case) is a Pilgrim, I had to make him her one. And I paper-pieced the hat. Yes, I know my Pilgrim is wearing a skirt (female) and that type of hat is worn by the male, but try to imagine how difficult it is to make a bonnet for a beaver, who has 2 ears sticking out. I tried, but it looked more like a white helmet.
But hey... this card is for my 9-year old niece & I'm quite sure she could care less that my Pilgrim is confused by it's actual gender.
Bryn's school break began today. Unfortunately the temperature has dropped & it's pouring down rain... unfortunate because I have a butt-load of running around to do today. Bryn & I have knocked out some of it... Spin class, Target, Justice for an upcoming b.day gift & carry-out for lunch. After lunch, we still need to go back out to the grocery store... should be a madhouse... and then come back & start preparing my contributions to the Thanksgiving meal for tomorrow.
Bob is also not thrilled with the rain, as he, his sister, brother-in-law & uncle are moving Bob's dad's things out of his assisted living apartment back to his old house (which still hasn't sold) today. We had to move him into a nursing home last Monday & he will only need a handful of things where he is now. The good news is that his dad is now 2 minutes away from our house, rather than over an hour away, so Bob can visit him every day now instead of only once a week. Very thankful.
I have a quick post planned for tomorrow & then I'm going to "shake it before we bake it" (ie... ZUMBA!), but just incase you're not here again let me say.... HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I hope you all have a very special day with your family & friends... good food, lots of laughs & many special memories.
XOXO
