This kit ROCKS. Aside from the fact that it includes another fabulous line from October Afternoon (Fly A Kite... which I LOVE!), it also includes some fun & adorable things from Pebbles & Lily Bee. The combination of it all, is my kind of kit. You can't help but create with a bit of whimsy.
I posted this the other day, but for the sake of posting my kit in it's entirety, here it is again. I love using Prima packaging on my pages & on this one I used some for my "grass." I appreciate when manufacturers use cute resusable packaging (Nikki Sivils does that well, too)... more bang for the buck!
Since I'm in ART CAMP mode this week & our first day was all about scrapbooking (my favorite subject!), I used one of my very old paper crimpers to add some texture to 2 of my pages.
On this one, I used it to make my cone. We found a vegan restaurant in Scottsdale last week that had an entire ice cream menu that was soy-based. No dairy here to worry about. So, for the first time ever, Bryn was able to read through all the combinations & make her ice cream selection just like most kids take for granted. It was VERY special & memorable for all of us. She chose the "S'Mores" combination (vanilla soy ice cream, chocolate sauce, graham crackers & ricemallows). Although I drink soymilk daily, I do not like the taste of soy ice cream. This, however, was FANTASTIC! It will be a regular stop from now on...
On this one, I used the crimper to make my tree trunk. Those bird houses take forever to cut out, too, by the way...
In addition to using my blue crackle paint for my title letters, I also used it to add some definition to the edges of my "clouds," which were round scalloped chipboard pieces that I cut in half...
Melanie provided another sketch for the team to use this month. It came from Scrapbooks Etc...
... and here's what I did with it...
I didn't want to use the blue paint for my letters on this one, nor did I want to stray from the contents of the kit. So... this time I just made some faux stitched lines on my letters to make them stand out a bit more. I like that this sketch gave me room for a LOT of journaling & this time I went with hand-written. I always cross my fingers that I don't make a mistake when I do that...
I think the 2-pager needs something. Some tweaking. But after spending a better part of the day yesterday coming up with what I have now, I'm going to leave it as is. For now.
For more information on this FABULOUS kit, contact Kimberly at HIP 2B SQUARE! You will not be disappointed!
Come back tomorrow for my cards!
I just love your whimsical style..so pretty and cute all the time! Those kits really fit you well!! I know those birdhouses must have taken forever to cut out...I love to fussy cut, but sometimes get really impatient LOL!!

Hand-written journaling always makes me nervous, too. But I think it looks great. I love what you did with this kit, and I like seeing it in it's entirety!

So neat that you guys found an ice cream place where Bryn had lots of choices!!
Love the sunshine page.
I like your handwriting, and I think the "tissues" page looks good as is!
BTW, I've seen a couple lines from the new Echo Park company, and I thought of you immediately! They're so you - bright, colorful, fun!

Lovely project, Deana! I really love everything you made :)
It's fun to see how creative you are--cutting scalloped circles in half for clouds, making trees out of flowers . . . SUPER!
Fully awesome :)
