I was planning to post a few projects I've recently completed, but went with something totally different today after watching the new Dr. Oz show for the first time.
I don't watch a lot of tv. There are a few things I record in the evenings on the DVR, but as for daytime tv... I just don't watch it anymore. Even if I'm at home in the craft room, it's usually music or peace & quiet. This morning, however, while I was running on the treadmill, I was flipping through the channels trying to find my Sirius dance music station when I saw Dr Oz was on. He's always been a favorite segment of mine on Oprah, so I had been meaning to tune in to his new show.
I'm glad there's an hour devoted to health issues on tv now. I think it's a show that's needed now more than ever. It really got me thinking, though, about people. What is it that's keeping you from living your best life possible? It's YOUR body. It's YOUR life. You only get one body & one life. Do you want a life that's heatlhy? What are you waiting for to make changes? Is it the words...
- "You have cancer."
- "You have diabetes."
- "You just had a heart attack."
- "You need a liver transplant."
- etc...
The mere thought of hearing any of those things scares me. But why wait to hear those words, when there are things you can do today to avoid it? Your body will take care of you, if you will take care of your body.
If you haven't caught Dr. Oz's show yet, put it on your list of shows to record. I guarantee, it will get you thinking about your quality of life... or the lack there of....
Don't laugh, but I could eat less! DH tells me that all the time... sigh...

great topic today Deana! I started changing my life when my husband left on deployment. At first it was to get skinny for him, but now I know I did it to be healthy for me. Because honestly couldn't see anyone but ME and my husband taking care of and raising Hailey. So that sure put a fire under me.. Plus working out everyday actually feels really good!!!
