I am sooooo tired today. I would really like to go to bed early tonight, but since my Hip kit arrived right before we were leaving for "date night," I want to play in the craft room, too! Torn between doing what I need to do & doing what I want to do. Decisions, decisions...
I have to apologize if it seems that I talk about "date night" all the time. It's just that it was such a rare thing for us to have nights out for like the first 6 years of Bryn's life, that to have 2 nights together in 1 month is something to talk about! Because we were lucky if we had 1 night a month or 1 night every 2 or 3 months back then. Part of the infrequency of our nights out was my fault. I didn't want to leave Bryn with just anyone, I didn't want to leave her at all to be perfectly honest, & our list of potential babysitters was a VERY short list. Like, let's see... my mom & dad. And, I just didn't want to be asking them all the time, I still don't. But now we have a girl in high school we really trust... so between her & my parents and the surprise slumber party that came up with my sister... we get out a little more.
Last night was fun. We started off at a wine bar, so we could use a gift certificate we had. We each had a glass of wine & shared the smoked salmon appetizer. The weather was PHENOMENAL... I'd swear we were suddenly transported to San Diego because 70 degree weather is unheard of here in August. We sat out on their patio. It was wonderful. We've been to this location twice now & their other location once. Every time we've had the same waitress & this time she saw us & said, "Oh, it's the Bostons!" I was impressed that she remembered our last name. I guess we're becoming regulars...
Check please...
It was beginning to look kind of grey, so I suggested we leave & get to our 7pm dinner reservations a few minutes early. Good thing we did, too. As we were driving away, it started raining. I imagine everyone on that patio was scrambling for a spot indoors. What was previously a packed patio at the next restaurant was now empty as well...
As our waitress was greeting us, out of the corner of my eye I noticed that our centerpiece had a little card in it. I looked at it & said, "What is this?" Bob smiled. Evidently when he booked our dinner reservation through opentable.com, he chose the option to have flowers delivered to the restaurant. The note read, "Happy date night to the love of my life."
Yeah, that was a nice surprise. Dinner was delicious! By the time we finished dinner, it had stopped raining. So, we decided to go check in to our hotel. I laughed when we left & felt embarrassed to be carrying the flowers out. I told Bob, "People are probably looking at me & thinking 'that hoosier is stealing the centerpiece.'" Although, since we were the only table there WITH a centerpiece, I guess it wasn't too out of place. LOL!
It was only 9pm & I really wanted dessert (preferably chocolate), so Bob went downstairs & came back to our room with more wine & a huge piece of chocolate cake. Yummy! It was an early night, but I didn't sleep well... thus the reason I can't stop yawning today. We had a great time though. And Bryn had fun seeing the movie Band Slam with her cousin & aunt. So everyone was happy!
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I WONDER WONDER WONDER why Deana is YAWNING???!!!???!!!???!!!......could it be that DELIGHT song we were discussing????? LOL!!!! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....hehehehehehehe :):):):):):) Loveeeeeeeeeee the photos and BOB ROCKS...having FLOWERS for U!!!! Awwwwwwwwwwwww! :):):):):):):):):):):):)

I know what you mean with the babysitter thing AND leaving at all... and the date night... Steve and I only have a couple people we leave Rainee with... and yes they are family... my nephew, my step-son's mother (auntie Mary), my m-i-l and if he'd drive out here my step-son... the list is short... and like you I hate asking all the time... but WE REALLY NEED A DATE NIGHT... it's just been too long... happy to see I'm not the only one with babysitter/date night issues! lol!
As for your hubby... what a guy!!! How sweet is he!! Sounds like it was a wonderful date night... even though you are yawning!
I hope you got a nap in and did some lo's with the new stuff!! Can't wait to see!!!
Have a super lovely Sunday!

p.s. Almost forgot... I used my gift certificate... bought the new Ali Edwards Stamps!!! Thank so much again!!! M
